foi hub

Get started

New here? The guided setup does this in three steps, about five minutes, and shows each one working. This page is the reference: every step by hand.

Six steps, about ten minutes. On a Mac you need only Terminal and this hub account; step 4 goes fastest with Claude Code (or another agent).

  1. Install

Open Terminal (press Cmd-Space, type Terminal, press Return), paste this line and press Return:

It installs foi, foi-mcp and foi-link into ~/.local/bin: no password, no Homebrew, no developer tools. When it asks about the Claude Code skill, type y. Then open a new Terminal window (Cmd-N) so it finds the new commands.

  2. Link this computer

Your browser opens with a code. Check it matches the one in Terminal, then click Approve. Terminal says Linked.

  3. Go to your project's folder

Projects live in Documents/GitHub (where GitHub Desktop keeps them). For an existing project, go to its folder; for a new one, make it:

If macOS asks to let Terminal access your Documents folder, click Allow.

  4. Set it up with your agent

Stay in that folder: your Terminal prompt ends with the folder's name (for example my-project %). Type claude and press Return. That starts Claude Code inside your project. When it is ready, tell it:

It asks whether this is a new project or existing code, writes the project's vision with you, and links it. If Terminal says command not found: claude, Claude Code is not installed: install it first, or set up a new project by hand with:

  5. Keep the link running

If macOS asks to let foi-link access your Documents folder, click Allow. It asks once (and maybe again after an update of foi-link).

Within a minute the project shows on Projects, here and on your phone. The web, your phone and Claude can only read it until you allow writes for it:

Writes then run on this computer through foi's own checks; foi-link writes off docs stops them.

  6. Add Claude

On claude.ai: Settings, Connectors, Add custom connector, paste this address, Add, then Connect and allow it here.

Then ask Claude, on the web or the phone app: What are my agents doing? More detail: connecting Claude.

Something looks wrong?

It checks everything and says how to fix what is wrong. Stuck? Send its whole output to whoever helps you.
